North Point Prison Danville KY was set on fire by inmates on early Saturday during a disturbance at the central Kentucky prison, said by the police. Minor injuries were also got by some of the prisoners during this disturbance but luckily no officer or staff members were hurt at the North point prison training center which is prison of medium security men, situated around 60 miles of Louisville towards southeast.
Kitchen, medical building and some other buildings were damaged because of fire set by the inmates during a disturbance at North point prison at Kentucky, according the press release issued by the Kentucky Justice & Public Safety Cabinet. The disturbance started actually on Friday at 6:30 am and tear gas fired by the officers at around 9 pm, according to the release.
All the inmates of north point prison were gentled by the police by 10:30 am. Dozens of state police, local police and corrections department officers had been summoned. Every unit of the police that was available to response was called in the north point prison at Kentucky, said by the spokesman of Kentucky State Police Lt. David Jude.
Spokesman of Gov. Steve Beshear Jay Blanton said that governor had been in continuous contact with the officials of the north point prison. There are around 1,100 inmates housed in north point prison’s six open-bay dormitories, according to the website of the prison. There are other 60 inmates under the special management category are housed in single cells in north point prison Kentucky.
