Jessica Dubroff was born on May 5, 1988 in Hercules, Contra Costa County, California. At the age of 7, Dubroff was trying to make a world record being a youngest pilot to fly an airplane across the United States but her general aviation aircraft crashed before 24 hours into her flight after taking off in Cheyenne, Wyoming at the Cheyenne Regional Airport.

Jessica Dubroff was instantly become a celebrity in media when she announced that she was going to attempt to fly across the United Stated. The flight of Dubroff was energetically followed by media outlets, supporters and other people who had closely monitored her flight as her each landing and take off was being reported by media.

According to the investigations of the National Transportation Safety Board, the cause of the crash of airplane was because of a wrong decision of pilot in command Joe Reid who decided to take off into worsening weather.
