Juneteenth celebration started today across the United States. It is celebrated being a day that brought freedom when last slave of United States was being set free in year 1865. It was the day in year 1865 when community got together to celebrate the freedom of U.S. slaves for the very first time. Celebration of the day today has been started in St. Joseph Park.

Juneteenth celebration will include special activities to children, a health fair, The Juneteenth Peace Walk and whole day performances of several bands and singers. If we go through the activities of the children in this celebration, it will include balloon animals, face painting, clown, crafts and competition of chess. Juneteenth car show will also be the part of this year’s celebration.

It has been said by the announcer of several activities, Michael McFadden that the day is considered one of the important days to bring together the people of community to recall their past and to look ahead. He further added that remembering the happenings of Emancipation Proclamation is not the only aim of Juneteenth celebration but it is to remember the result of that incident.

McFadden further added that progress of that day is being celebrated by us every year and we still need to progress more and more and celebration are also being done for the future days.

if we go through Juneteenth history, though an Emancipation Proclamation was being issued by Abraham Lincoln, former president of United States to free slaves on 1st of January 1863 but it took a long to act upon this and slaves were free on 19th of June 1865.

In the start of our company, salsa habanera was our item to sell which was a homemade. Although we did not win but still there was enough confident to bottle it and now we are among successful companies, said by the Kevin Lewis.

Salsa has been bottled by the Austin Slow Burn for over the last fifteen years but due to a good return they have been stuck up to their original inspiration, “The Slow Burn”. Our things will definitely be liked by the people if they taste it at our booth, said by the Kevin Lewis. In the early parts of 20th Century kids made their own cars literally in the Soapbox Derby Atlanta races and this thing will be very much remembered by the people having ages around or more than 70s and if still they can remember the event but later on plywood and other modern material was used by the kids to make cars but without motors that simply rolled under their own power.

Wichita Flight Festival 2009 is going to start today and ready for takeoff. Finishing touches have been put up by the organizers for the event on Friday as preview of the weekend activities will be hosted by them at Jabara Airport. This flight festival will be free to view to the public this year which will be part of those efforts that are being given to the local community.

Wing-drag aerial moves of Kyle Franklin gave a new taste to the attendees of the Wichita Flight Festival 2009. Aerodynamic flair of the Pilots Paul Stender with skywriter Suzanne and John Moore also showed off to the public. Franklin said that I always love to perform in Wichita as this is one of my favorite towns because of its rich aviation industry and history. I always feel just to be in my home town, he added.

Educational services centers and job assistance will also be offered by the organizers of the Wichita Flight Festival 2009 in addition to the usual food courts and vendor booths, at the festival this year.
