Alexis Tioseco, a well known Filipino-Canadian film critic was shot dead with his best friend and love Nika Bohinc, a Slovenian programmer and critic. Both have been killed during a robbery on Tuesday night at their home in Quezon City. The door was opened by a household when the bell was rung by three gunmen who then robbed the valuables and shot the couple, according to the local news reports.

Alexis Tioseco was of good reputation lecturer, critic and writer and his murdered news has made the Asian film community sad. Rising wave of independent filmmakers was also helped by Tioseco to the overseas and local audiences as well. Tioseco was an editor of Criticine.com and was a champion of the cinema of South-East Asian.
